Introduction to Africa for European soccer pansies – Part 1



Ok so next year FIFA in all it’s madness has decided to allow South Africa to host the Soccer World cup….. awesome. There is a chance I may even get to meet some of you nutters.

In anticipation, I will be posting a series of informative pieces on what to expect – how to prepare and what not to do in this crazy part of the world.

First off – you will need to be able to make a lot of noise…. Those polite tea drinking sessions we see on telly where a couple of premier sides get together, shout a lot, sing “Sweet Chariot…” and have a little argy bargy in the parking lot afterwards is really a walk in the park when you get here.

Toughen up.

First of – get lessons in blowing this number:



It is called a Vuvuzela and if blow it right, can make sound louder than a Jumbo jet.

Go on – get practicing.
